In 1978, Tissot created a slim quartz model with narrow indexes and a steel bracelet. The name PRX was later registered, with "PR" standing for "precise" and "robust" and "X" for 10 bar water resistance. In 2021, Tissot presents the PRX 40 205, a modern interpretation of its predecessor. The 40 mm case made of 316L stainless steel has a tonneau shape and a narrow, round bezel. The PRX 40 205 Powermatic 80 has a honeycomb dial with nickel-plated or rose gold-colored indexes and hands. The flexible bracelet without traditional horns is ergonomically designed. The hands are coated with SuperLumiNova® and the dial is close to the watch glass, which makes the watch appear flatter. It has scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a mineral glass case back and a bezel with a Tiffany blue dial as well as a 316L stainless steel bracelet with a butterfly clasp.
